New wrinkles to collaboration

Designed to allow users to see and share corporate thinking and data, IntranetBrain from TheBrain is a visual navigation system for intranets. The company says its new product is especially useful for geographically dispersed and rapidly expanding organizations that need to get employees familiar with company knowledge quickly.

IntranetBrain maps out relationships between and connects documents, concepts, people and Web sites, the company explains, and is published on a local area network or Web site so knowledge workers can access information globally through their browsers. The company further claims the product transforms isolated documents into intuitive networks of knowledge.

Applications for IntranetBrain include company knowledgebases, customer support systems, product catalogs and sales support tools. And IntranetBrain implementation could enable users to create an organizational chart of their company connecting people to each other and to the products and projects for which they are responsible. Company policies, product and project documents, client information, reference materials, etc. can be linked intuitively.

IntranetBrain is said to work with all Web servers and most browsers. The out-of-the-box software can be licensed for $1,995 for up to 100 users and is immediately available for download.
