New era for CRM

Information Today (ITI) announced that it has completed the strategic acquisition of market leader CRM magazine. The acquisition will enhance the ITI product line with the printed magazine, Web site, e-mail newsletter (CRM Weekly) and a nationally recognized series of Webinars on customer relationship management. KMWorld is a division of ITI.

CRM magazine is the leading publication serving the field of customer relationship management. CRM is a business technology magazine written for senior level management in corporate, sales, marketing, service and information technology. Together with the Web site, destinationCRM.com, live Web events and custom media products, it provides business leaders the information they need to reach their strategic objectives through tactical implementation of CRM process and technology.

"We at CRM magazine are excited to join the ranks of Information Today and its portfolio of products serving the needs of information professionals with a full line of magazines, books, periodicals, conferences and online content," said Bob Fernekees, publisher of CRM magazine. "ITI is a natural fit for our magazine and this new partnership will allow us to continue to provide our readers and advertisers with the highest quality content and products available in business technology publishing."

Information Today is a leading publisher and conference organizer in the information and knowledge management industries. While the company is widely known as the publisher of premier information and knowledge management titles such as Information Today, Searcher, ONLINE, Computers in Libraries, Econtent and KMWorld among others, this acquisition rounds out ITI's product line.

"The field of customer relationship management is one that we've been following for a number of years because of its impact on knowledge management and information services, fields we already cover," said Tom Hogan Sr., president of Information Today, Inc. "However, the acquisition of CRM puts us in the center of the customer relationship management community, and we feel this is truly a technology that is ready to explode."

Key CRM personnel will remain in the New York City office, including Fernekees and editorial staffers.

Prior to the acquisition, CRM magazine was owned by Line 56, a global news and analysis company that delivers information on e-business and enterprise technologies to corporate executives from all industry sectors.
