New content management options from Documentum

With an eye toward maximizing content contribution and distribution, Documentum has developed 4i Business Edition, which is designed to combine business-critical enterprise content with Web content to fuel B2B, B2C and B2E initiatives. Its open architecture permits organizations to harvest content from employees, partners and suppliers alike for delivery to the Web. 4i also provides content personalization that can target rich content to an individual, a local geography or a target device in a closed loop system that can, based on user profile and usage, "learn" from past behavior to enrich subsequent interactions and further personalize content delivery.

The 4i eBusiness Edition server offers version control, audit trail and security capabilities while automating business policies and workflows to manage all types of content stored in the content repository. The WebPublisher facilitates content creation, contribution and collaboration with a simple user interface. WebPublisher includes integrations with popular authoring environments such as Macromedia DreamWeaver, enabling professional site designers and developers to easily create and maintain web pages, navigation elements and publishing templates. WebPublisher also comes with an XML-based authoring environment, which allows everyday casual users to directly create and publish web content. Full access to the content repository is provided through a web client that relies on any standard browser or a desktop client that is tightly integrated with the Microsoft Windows operating system.
