NationsBank Deposits Faith with BancTec

NationsBank, the nation's third largest financial institution, has chosen BancTec (Dallas) to provide check imaging software. BancTec will install its ImageFirst OpenArchive system at NationsBank's processing center in Georgia, to provide the bank's customers with online access to stored check images. NationsBank's Transaction Services division handles about 30 million checks each day, making it the largest check processor in the U.S. After shopping around for archive solutions, NationsBank was impressed with BancTec's solution, according to Dick Steele, executive VP and manager of NationsBank's Transaction Services division. ImageFirst OpenArchive "is a proven system already running successfully in multiple high-speed, high-volume customer environments," he said. The deal "underscores the accelerating adoption of image technology for check applications," added BancTec chairman and CEO Grahame Clark, Jr.
