NCR offers data warehousing solutions for telecom market

NCR (Dayton, OH) has taken the wraps off of two new extensions to its data warehousing solutions for the telecommunications industry. ChurnSentry and GrowthAdvisor combine ad hoc query and data mining capabilities with NCR's Teradata database engine and Worldmark servers, to offer an entry-level, scalable data warehouse solution to telecommunications companies. With the data mining and ad hoc query features, ChurnSentry helps identify high value customers at risk of churning, so telecom companies can proactively focusing retention efforts on those high value customers. GrowthAdvisor helps identify customers most likely to buy a given product or service, and focus target market campaign efforts on those customers. "Data warehousing and data mining in the telecommunications industry is fast becoming a source of strategic competitive advantage, particularly in building core customer management capabilities," said Tony Barrese, VP of NCR's Communications Systems Division. The extensions come with a pre-built suite of data warehouse and data mining utilities and tools, fully integrated Teradata database and NCR Worldmark server, and a pre-packaged professional services engagement. Pricing starts at $850,000.
