Multi-tenant-enabled CCM

iManage has released what it calls the only content management and collaboration platform designed for shared service and application service provider (ASP) models while minimizing physical infrastructure investments.

iManage Worksite MP, the company's Java-based collaborative content management (CCM) platform, allows development partners to set up separate, highly secure instances of CCM software serving multiple internal entities such as business units or multiple customers, in an ASP model, for example, all on the same server.

The company says multi-tenant environments require isolation of content and user directories to ensure that security is maintained and different customizations for each separate group of users. iManage claims that before its WorkSite MP offering, companies would have to set up individual hardware installations for each customer or division--additional hardware and operating system licenses, as well as administrator time to install, configure and maintain individual systems.

iManage says WorkSite MP has been built from the ground up to support multi-tenant environments. Each iManage WorkSite MP server can support multiple virtual repositories called facilities that are individually customizable and maintain an independent user community and content base, the company says. Once a multi-tenant environment has been established, iManage WorkSite MP ensures that the ASP or shared service deployment can continue to grow to support exponential growth, says the company.
