Modular digital asset management from Extensis

Extensis has released Portfolio, a modular digital asset management (DAM) system claimed to transform the user experience and make DAM affordable for companies of all sizes.

Said to require minimal IT support, Portfolio can hold millions of assets in either one catalog or several, allowing the solution to be used by multiple departments. Additionally, Portfolio’s new RESTful API provides ease when integrating with other third-party business applications such as e-commerce systems, collection management systems and Web content management systems, says the company.

Extensis highlights these core elements of its Portfolio offering:

  • refined user interface,
  • 2,000 percent increase in capacity,
  • suggested guided search,
  • millisecond search results through Elasticsearch technology,
  • 500 percent faster cataloging,
  • metadata-managed upload, and
  • on-premise or cloud deployment.

Extensis cites the following add-on options:

  • Portfolio Flow for mobile—iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android users can upload photos, videos and audio recordings with metadata while working remotely;
  • Portfolio NetPublish—assets and metadata can be published to a dynamic site that can be accessed via browser, smart phone or tablet, facilitating collaboration and sharing with internal and external teams;
  • single sign-on—Portfolio integrates with a company’s LDAP server and reduces the need for users to enter a username and password after they’ve logged into their computer; and
  • Portfolio Media Engine—delivers enhanced power and performance coupled with extended file format and video conversion.
