Midcontinent Wins Contract from the Nebraska DMV

Midcontinent Business Systems (Minneapolis) has been awarded an imaging contract from the State of Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles. The deal calls for MBS to implement IBM's (Armonk, NY) ImagePlus VisualInfo for AS/400 imaging system in the NDMV's Financial Responsibility Division during the second quarter of 1998. The deal is worth approximately $700,000. "It is impossible right now to quickly access file information to respond to customer inquiries," according to Keith Dey, NDMV Project Manager. The imaging system will help the DMV "manage the increasing workload at the DMV due to continuing downsizing in government," he said, "and allow us to better serve the State of Nebraska taxpayers." The deal is "a big win for the new IBM technology," according to MBS marketing manager David Stone, and illustrates the efforts IBM has put into its AS/400 document management products.
