Merger to create DocuCorp

Two automated enterprise document production companies,Image Sciences (Dallas) and FormMaker Software (Atlanta), have signed an agreement to merge and create a new company called DocuCorp International. The merger is expected to close before the end of April.

Image Sciences shareholders will receive approximately 52% of DocuCorp's stock. Combined annual revenues for the privately owned companies exceeded $32 million for 1996.

The new company will be headquartered in Dallas and also will maintain operations in Atlanta, Silver Spring, MD, and Manchester, NH.

"Our clients increasingly view document automation as a critical component in enhancing their internal productivity," said Samuel Wilkes, COO of FormMaker. "The market for document automation solutions is changing rapidly from the traditional 'paper factory' to a broader component of an enterprise information delivery strategy."

According to the company, more than half of the largest 200 insurance companies in the U.S. use the Image Sciences DocuMerge product to automate insurance policy production
