MediaWay Introduces KM System for Marketing Organizations

A system for organizing, sharing and leveraging creative content found in marketing departments and organizations has been unveiled by MediaWay (Santa Clara, CA). MediaAssets Version 2.0 provides centralized storage for digital assets of most any form for retrieval through corporate intranets or the Internet. MediaAssets addresses the need to find and reuse marketing materials as well as getting those materials to the marketing and sales people who need them. MediaAssets provides a repository for digital photos, video clips, presentations and sales brochures on a server, using folder/subfolder organization. A

Verity-based search engine lets users find the material they're looking for. The system also automatically published Web pages and includes "check in/check out" capabilities for collaboration among various users. "Even though digital creative assets like product photos, brochures, presentations, and videos represent the lifeblood of marketing, in most companies they tend to be unorganized and scattered," said MediaWay president Steve Dauber. "No one knows what content is available or where to find it." Using the MediaAssets system has helped Northern Telecom reuse their marketing information, saving time and money. "You can create the best graphics in the world, but if you can't get them to the people who need them, they're going to waste," said David Daniels, Information Specialist with Nortel. Using MediaAssets, Nortel is saving time preparing presentations and proposals and is "delivering a more consistent message about our products and services." Pricing for MediaAssets Version 2.0, which began shipping on January 21, starts at $15,000 and includes five concurrent usage licenses. Additional concurrent usage licenses may be purchased for $2,000.
