Taking CD support to the Max, Maxoptix (Fremont, CA) has unveiled the CD-Max CD-RW drive that supports CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW. The CD-Max provides backward compatibility with CD-R media and all CD-ROM formats–audio, video and photo. The product is bundled with

Adaptec's (Milpitas, CA) Easy Creator and Direct CD, and Ahead Software's Nero Burning ROM for the PC, and Adaptec Toast for MacIntosh users. Shipping in mid-month, CD Max is available for $659 PC internal, $769 PC external and $730 Mac external.
