SolCom has released a Java Virtual Machine server architecture to drive its suite of knowledge management products, giving customers a choice of operating systems, including AIX, Unix, Solaris, HP-UX, 0S/400 and Windows 2000.

To support interoperability and distributed business processing, the company has also added a complete object import/export utility to facilitate document exchange between a range of document management systems.

MultiManager, SolCom’s KM suite, acts as the foundation of its specialized healthcare (electronic health record and patient financial services) and insurance (claims and portfolio management) solutions. The company explains that MultiManager for Patient Records, for example, captures and becomes a central repository for all patient information, including demographic and financial data, all generated documents (paper and electronic) and, if requested, medical images. MultiManager includes electronic signature and specialized workflow scenarios, as well as physician-focused features and robust security functions.
