Lotus and J.D. Edwards Combine ERP With 1-2-3

Lotus Development Corp. (Cambridge, MA) and J.D. Edwards

(Denver) have announced an agreement to integrate J.D. Edwards' OneWorld enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution with Lotus Notes and Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet application. Users will be able to export data from their ERP system directly into a spreadsheet or edit-in-place 1-2-3 objects, and share their work with others using Lotus Notes. The integration "provides customers with a better business productivity solution at their fingertips," according to John Schiff, senior technologist at J.D. Edwards. Eileen Rudden, senior VP at Lotus, agrees that customers will see an impact on their business. "Our partnership with J.D. Edwards helps enterprise customers get more benefit from their IT investment," she said.
