Live transcoding, mobile slide sync from Qumu

Business video platform provider Qumu has launched Live Transform, a streaming capability based on technology licensed from partner Wowza Media Services. Qumu cites the following features of Live Transform:

Live transcoding. By transforming one or more incoming or encoding streams from a variety of supported capture devices, Qumu can deliver video in a variety of new stream formats in real time. Live Transform also translates from a high bitrate to numerous lower bitrates. The live transcoding functionality of Live Transform also seamlessly integrates with Qumu’s Pathfinder and VideoNet Edge delivery capabilities.

Mobile slide synchronization. The capabilities of Wowza Streaming Engine along with Qumu’s enhancements within Live Transform enable script events to be added to HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) broadcasts to ensure “in-band slide synchronization” (correctly timed slides along with video).
