Linguamatics and Dow Jones Expedite Pharma Industry Research with NLP-Based Text Analytics

NLP text analytics provider Linguamatics is partnering with news content provider Dow Jones. The agreement allows pharmaceutical companies to extract key insights from Dow Jones Factiva utilizing Linguamatics I2E text mining technology.

The Linguamatics-Dow Jones partnership is aimed at helping users to derive key insights from Dow Jones Factiva content by leveraging advanced NLP to identify and extract critical concepts in a structured format for review and quick analysis.

Pharmaceutical companies require current and historical industry information to ensure they remain up-to-date with market conditions and product innovations, according to Jason Malatesta, head of partnerships at Dow Jones. By using Linguamatics’ NLP text mining capabilities, he said, organizations can now search and mine Dow Jones’ archives and real-time streams.

Factiva includes content from nearly 33,000 premium, licensed sources, as well as information on more than 20 million public and private companies.

I2E eliminates the need for users to manually read through large quantities of documents to search for critical information by connecting relevant facts and relationships in a way that synthesizes knowledge and creates actionable insights.

Under the terms of the agreement, Linguamatics customers who have text mining rights to Dow Jones Factiva can utilize the I2E platform to identify and extract relevant data. Users can apply preconfigured queries based on common use cases, or create their own queries based on their organization’s specific requirements.
