Lason to Acquire Racom

Lason (Troy, MI) has agreed to acquire Racom (New Orleans). The deal involved cash and shares of Lason common stock; other details were not disclosed. Racom is an independent provider of image conversion services, facilities management and system integration and support services, with 16 imaging centers in eight Southwestern states. The deal represents the largest acquisition in Lason's history, according to Lason president and CEO Gary Munroe. With the deal, Lason will gain approximately 200 customers and add over 500 employees. It's the third acquisition by Lason in as many months; VIP Imaging (San Francisco) and Litigation Solutions (Chicago) were acquired in November and December. With the acquisition Lason also adds another $30 million in revenue, and steps into the imaging services market in Texas and Arizona, and expands its Florida operations.
