Kvaerner Selects Documentum EDMS

Kvaerner Process, an Anglo-Norwegian international engineering and construction group, has purchased several thousand licenses of Documentum's (Pleasanton, CA) EDMS document management system. The deal is worth more than $1.6 million. Kvaerner will use the system to help reduce project duration, and estimates that it will save $11 million when the system is fully implemented. Kvaerner Process provides technology-based design, engineering, construction and project management services for the petrochemical, polymer and pharmaceutical industries. Its parent company, Kvaerner, provides solutions to the shipbuilding, process technology, oil and gas, and construction metals and pulp and paper industries. "Documents are the currency of our business and global engineering requires that we share documents worldwide," said David Moorhouse, president and CEO of Kvaerner Process, which will use the EDMS systems to "make us more efficient, consistent and competitive in all our operations." The deal extends Documentum's presence in the engineering vertical market.
