Kodak and Perot Sign Pact for PACS

The healthcare market is again the beneficiary of a deal, this time between Eastman Kodak (Rochester, NY) and

Perot Systems (Dallas). The two companies have signed a letter of intent to work together to provide picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) technology for institution-wide medical imaging applications. The announcement was made at the HIMSS '98 conference in Orlando. Under the multi-year agreement, Kodak will design and deliver digital image management systems in large-scale hospital installations using Perot's networking and integration services capabilities. Kodak's experience in digital imaging science coupled with Perot's network design and IT services helps customers "cut costs and streamline workflows to help improve patient care," said Sridhar Seshadri, VP of Kodak's Health Imaging division.
