KMWorld 2018 Puts Sharp Focus on AI, Machine Learning, and Collaboration

“In a fast-moving world, you need to move quickly,” said Amy Wilkinson, founder and CEO of Ingenuity, and author of “The Creator’s Code: Six Essential Skills of Extraordinary Entrepreneurs,” in the opening keynote of KMWorld 2018.

And, for 4 days in Washington, DC, November 4-8, the conference presented pre-conference workshops and thought-provoking sessions aimed at helping attendees succeed in a rapidly changing business environment by identifying knowledge management goals and approaches for achieving them.

KMWorld 2018 covered KM strategies, the digital workplace and collaboration, newer technologies such as AI and blockchain, and put a sharp focus on taxonomy, enterprise search, and text analytics.

There were more than 1,100 total registrants at the conference and many sessions were packed with engaged attendees who gathered to get practical advice, hear inspiring thought leadership, and participate in in-depth training on how KM and related disciplines can provide value for their organizations and transform their businesses.

Several key themes ran through the conference, including the importance of taxonomy principles, the opportunities and challenges presented by AI and machine learning, and the need to create a collaborative atmosphere around knowledge management.
