PensEra Knowledge Technologies and iHello have combined technologies to develop the iHello-PensEra Gateway, the companies say, which allows attorneys to record billable hours and instantly leverage key information and insights about their cases, clients and practice by calling from any telephone.

The companies claim the Gateway combines the strengths of iHello’s mobile voice response interface with PensEra’s TimeKM Knowledge Funnel, an activity-based time and knowledge system. The solution is designed to allow attorneys to call in a time entry as they leave a client’s office, dictate critical knowledge notes about the case or client after a meeting or alert others to a new practice approach while leaving the courthouse using a regular telephone. The speak-and-respond voice system provides simplicity of use, universal availability, and accurate performance, the companies say.

PensEra’s Web-based TimeKM Knowledge Funnel routes time entries to the law firm’s internal billing system to improve and accelerate recovery of billable hours. Phoned-in knowledge notes are classified by client and topic, and the system automatically alerts others and distributes this knowledge to all attorneys who subscribe to that client or knowledge category.
