KM for service organizations from Verge Software

Today at the IKMS summit in sunny California, Verge Software announced a new application geared to help service firms better manage information, win more deals and run better projects.

Verge's Insight Version 1.0 automates the capture, organization and discovery of information relevant to a service organization's tasks and projects. Insight recognizes any type of information from Lotus Notes repositories, intranets, the Internet or any ODBC-compliant data source.

An intuitive knowledge-driven interface mimics user work methods and business processes. Insight monitors user interactions and activities to help find and automatically categorize relevant information.

What that all means is that Insight presents information relevant to an individual user's needs in the context of that user's information history, work profile, and business processes.

Pricing for the now-available Verge Insight starts at $50,000.

Applications like Verge's Insight may soon become part of the standard working desktop at service organizations, particularly when competitiveness and the ability to deliver results to the customer are emphasized, according to Delphi Group analyst Hadley Reynolds
