Combining document management, content management, information search and retrieval, workflow and e-learning, Hyperwave Information Management has developed eKnowledge Infrastructure, a suite of modular collaborative knowledge management systems.

The new suite is upgradeable from and replaces the company’s Hyperwave Information Server and Hyperwave Information Portal products. The company reports it utilizes the functionality of databases such as Oracle, Microsoft and Sybase in the areas of transaction security, high availability and data throughput. The new system offers search and retrieval capabilities with technology from Verity and Autonomy.

Hyperwave says eKnowledge Infrastructure consists of three products, each available as an individual or combined solution.

  • The eKnowledge Suite enables users to contribute, modify and access information using a range of document and content management functions for the creation and deployment of intranet and extranet sites. To enhance collaboration, the company offers an optional Team Workspace module that enables people in different locations to work together as virtual project teams.

  • The eKnowledge Portal is a customizable interface for the exchange of role-based information throughout the enterprise and provides a forum for collaboration between team members and experts. It provides integration with back-end systems such as ERP, messaging, groupware and other applications.

  • The eLearning Suite enables organizations to offer employees both ready-made and customized Web-based courses using information held in the corporate memory. Personalized, profile-based training can be created to meet the requirements of individual employees, whose progress can be monitored through regular assessment.
