Interwoven for intranets

Powered by its flagship TeamSite software, Interwoven’s intranet solution is designed to simplify intranet publishing and site management, empowering enterprises to improve work force productivity, streamline IT processes and reduce business risk.

The new Interwoven offering is said to enable enterprises to decentralize content contribution and control while simultaneously centralizing Web content management infrastructure. Interwoven says TeamSite facilitates the IT management consolidation of multiple intranet sites--reducing hardware, software and IT support costs--while also increasing brand consistency and regulatory compliance across the enterprise. As a result of a simplified intranet content publishing process, non-technical subject matter experts can also contribute content more quickly and easily than before, the company says.

Interwoven further reports the intranet solution is geared to meet the needs of business and IT managers alike. Departments can manage and customize intranets to meet their specific needs, while IT can standardize on the underlying content management infrastructure. As a result, business managers retain control of their content, without the IT burden and inefficiencies of maintaining disparate content management systems throughout the enterprise.
