Intersolv Releases Software Configuration Server

Intersolv(Rockville, MD) has unveiled the PVCS Version Manager Server, whichalong with its PVCS Version Manager Version 6.0, helps to streamline the access to information to corporate software and Web content. The server features a new intuitive browser-based Java client and GUI, server-based archive processing and a client-server architecture. Software configuration is becoming more of an issue with larger organizations, particularly with the explosion of corporate groupware applications, according to Dave Kelly, VP of research services for the Hurwitz Group. "The influence of the Internet and intranets, in combination with today's complexity of client/server architectures, heterogeneous networks and geographically dispersed development teams, has made the use of SCM tools extremely important." The PVCS VM Server is available immediately for $3,000 per ten-user license.
