Integrating Hummingbird and Centra

Hummingbird has integrated Centra’s collaboration capabilities into Hummingbird Enterprise through its document and content management product, Hummingbird DM, and portal solution, Hummingbird Portal.

Through this integration, the companies claim, organizations will now be able to conveniently launch Centra's real-time, online collaboration application from the same central locations that they have come to depend on for other integrated information and applications.

Hummingbird reports its DM offering is a content management platform that enables knowledge workers to receive the right information when and where they need it. Hummingbird Portal is a Web-based workspace that ties applications and information together to complete the 360-degree view of enterprise content. Both products are integral components of Hummingbird Enterprise, a powerful suite of integrated information and content management products designed to accelerate and refine business processes across the extended enterprise.

Under the terms of the agreement, both companies have agreed to cooperative sales and marketing program participation. Hummingbird expects that the integrated offering will be available for customers by September 2003.

Centra says its scalable enterprise application, CentraOne, brings together voice, video, data and graphics in easy-to-use interfaces for Web conferencing, meetings and virtual classrooms that can be deployed onsite or accessed through a secure ASP, leveraging Centra's global network of servers. Centra integrates with existing infrastructure to help organizations align enterprise IT strategies with key business processes to enhance productivity, lower costs and drive revenue. Centra's solutions are available in 13 language editions and in 29 countries worldwide.
