Innotech Unveils CD Publishing Application

Innotech (North York, Ontario) has unveiled the NetResults-CD Version 2.0 application for putting Web content onto CD-ROM. NetResults offers Java-based searching and indexing, and an improved GUI, with search improvements on the client side. Customizable search applets through HTML parameters can be designed for a specific audience. NetResults Version 2.0 uses temporary files, so it doesn't live on a user's hard drive. Users include Sun Microsystems, O'Reilly & Associates, a Boston-based publisher, and JavaSoft (a division of Sun). The product is also bundles with Hummingbird

's Paper2Web document management suite. NetResults is designed for publishers who want to make the switch to hybrid publishing tools, according to Innotech CTO Simon Arnison, who added that the government market is a key target for them. Pricing for NetResults Version 2.0 is $3,995 for a 5,000-CD license; a 25,000-CD license costs $8,995. Higher quantities are available.
