Infospace Unveils Web-Based Decision Support

Infospace (San Mateo, CA) has unveiled Version 3.0 of its SpaceSQL Java-based server solution for enterprise decision support. The solution is designed to deploy scalable decision support system over the Web. New features include a new user interface and two administration modules, Java charting features including drill-down charts, and a security module for extranet deployment. "The ability to provide our institutional customers with secure, self-service access to electronic information helped give us an edge," said Dan Keller, senior vice president of the Mutual Funds Technology group at Charles Schwab & Company

. Already signed on is Sun Microsystems (Mountain View, CA). "A Java computing environment is the most appropriate and powerful way in which to build a business intelligence infrastructure for the future," said William Raduchel, Sun CIO and VP of Corporate Planning and Development. Available in limited production to current Infospace customers, the SpaceSQL Version 3.0 is current priced at $10,000 per server, with a $2,000 charge per concurrent user license.
