InfoImage and Microsoft hook up

InfoImage and Microsoft have agreed to jointly develop knowledge-based intranet and extranet portal solutions. Through the combination of InfoImage Freedom and the Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, the goal of the agreement is to develop enterprise portals with highly advanced navigation, multi-level search, document management, virtual collaboration and scalablity.

With InfoImage Freedom, information is presented in a unified desktop view, enabling collaboration among key work partners across an enterprise and at external sites. The company adds that Freedom offers users concept-based search capability, advanced navigation, intranet and extranet applications as well as integration with nearly all back-end systems.

Microsoft reports its SharePoint server allows customers to integrate document management, enterprise search subscriptions and discussions into their document collaboration process. Microsoft claims the server has one of the most comprehensive, timely and relevant search engines in the industry, allowing it to index multiple content sources, including Web servers, file servers, Exchange public folders, Lotus Notes databases, etc.
