InSystems Unveils Mosaic Document Library

InSystems Technologies (Markham, Ontario) has unveiled the Mosaic Document Library document management system specifically designed for the insurance marketplace. The system manages, stores, tracks and publishes business documents such as policies and procedures manuals, sales proposals, underwriting guides, claims documents and business correspondence. The product offers a secure repository for documents and folders, controlled access via group or user-level security, version control and audit trail features, and both index and full-text search and retrieval capabilities. It also has an automated export utility which can export in native or PDF format. "The emphasis on insurance leverages the legacy of InSystems' strong position in financial services applications," said the Delphi Group

. The insurance industry, with its lingering dependence on paper-intensive processes and "information silos," is a prime target for a document management offering. While document management technology like the Mosaic Document Library is "a necessary prerequisite" for any knowledge management system, says Delphi, "it's still a long way from the sort of "shared mind" concept that is associated with the high ground of knowledge management solutions." Pricing for the Mosaic Document Library will be announced in conjunction with its release in Q2 '98.
