InConcert and Documentum produce knowledge management system

A knowledge management system is forthcoming from InConcert (Cambridge, MA,

http://www.inconcert.com) and Documentum (Pleasanton, CA, http://www.documentum.com). Designed for users of Docbase whose processes may include more than documents, the solution encompasses management of data, resources, software applications, business processes and rules. InConcert DMS Extension server, an integration of InConcert workflow software with the Docbase document management repository, acts as a bridge between servers. Processes are managed by InConcert, while Docbase tracks all documents.

Jeremy Davis, InConcert president, points to the importance of eliminating the need to choose between compound document management and complex process-centric workflow by offering both in a single solution. The product integration is being managed by an InConcert development partner, Comspec (Salt Lake City, http://www.comspec.com), and is scheduled for December 1997 release.
