Imaging, workflow to benefit Pennsylvania Life policyholders

For Pennsylvania Life, streamlining the way workers process claims will have a direct positive impact on customer service and ultimately the bottom line.

Pennsylvania Life manages more than 2,600 claims from 500,000 policyholders per month totaling over $4,500,000 in paid benefits. The company is implementing imaging and workflow software from Eastman Software to electronically capture, display, share and store claim information contained in documents, forms, memos, photos and drawings. Penn Life will deploy the system across 100 U.S. offices, with plans to expand to Canadian offices next year.

Improving the management and coordination of work and files will make Penn Life more efficient and able to service more policyholders. That's important to Penn Life, whose success is built on service and dedication to its customers, according to CIO George Elridge.

"Pennsylvania Life's success is built on our dedication to provide the best service possible to our policyholders, which means being responsive and customizing our services to meet their needs," he said. The new imaging and workflow system has "brought these improvements to our enterprise and bottom line," he added, and will be key to the company's future growth
