Image Publishing has released of Version 2 of Imaging Professional, a technology research and resource tool for document imaging projects. The product is designed for corporate and government technology professionals who need to conduct diligence in all phases of an imaging project. Version 2, available on CD-ROM, provides imaging project management resources for planning, management, operations and training.

“Imaging Professional helps users formulate the right questions about their imaging project requirements,” said David Miles, publisher. “The information it provides is structured according to the way research is performed and skills are developed in this specialized area.” According to U.S. Department of Commerce figures, the business document imaging technology industry generates $17.5 billion in annual revenues. Image Publishing estimates that more than half of proposed corporate and government imaging projects never get past the planning stage due to a lack of cost justification and implementation data. Imaging Professional is designed to address this problem directly.

“Professionals involved in projects that have knowledge management and document imaging technology components experience an immediate benefit from using the product,” says Michael Kennedy, the company’s chief technology officer. “For example, organizations with production imaging systems are using the product to identify performance gaps, plan process improvements, develop systems integration skills and build effective training programs.”

Imaging Professional, introduced in February 2000, has an installed user base of over 86,000 technology professionals in corporate, educational and government organizations involved with IT services, KM, records management, archival collections, production imaging services and technology sales. Founded in 1986, Ridgefield, Connecticut-based Image Publishing specializes in producing content for information technology professionals.
