Idetix revamps Revize

Idetix Software Systems has re-engineered its Revize content management system based on a completely new architecture. Version 3.0 includes two new products--the Web Application and the Developer's Tool. Also new to this release is the addition of Java Server Pages and a Servlet engine that generates edit pages.

The Revize 3.0 Web Application enables service providers and corporations to integrate affordable content management into new or existing Web sites. The product allows content contributors to manage their own site information using any device that supports a standard Web browser. Revize 3.0 also includes an embedded 100% Pure Java relational database.

The new version is built to support Java Servlet specs and is compatible with all major applications and Web servers. The product runs on Microsoft Windows NT and Sun Microsystems Solaris operating systems and provides adapters to external databases such as Oracle8i. Adapters to Microsoft SQL and IBM DB2 will be available by year end. Future releases are planned to support Linux and Windows 2000.

The Developer's Tool is a Macromedia Dreamweaver extension that complements 3.0. It allows developers to “Revize-enable” any new or existing Web site, and visually create Revize templates and edit pages. The tool further enables users to build advanced sites without programming language prerequisites.

The complete Revise package, which includes one channel of output (any intranet, extranet or Web site application) sells for $9,995.
