IBM and AMS To Join for Business Intelligence

A slew of recent deals by IBM (Armonk, NY), including the most recent one with systems integrator AMS (Fairfax, VA), aims to raise the bar for business intelligence. With the newest agreement, AMS will develop custom solutions for global companies based on IBM's Intelligent Miner and Visual Warehouse product lines, the DB2 Universal Database, and DB2 OLAP Server. AMS has built solutions on top of IBM technology before, including a data mart for a German bank, and data warehouses for the U.S.' Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, a U.S.-based international airline and one of the Baby Bells. The agreement will allow next-generation enterprises to "capitalize on their data resources to achieve customer intimacy," said AMS VP Cathy Hirsh.
