IBM VP switches to DataChannel

DataChannel has named Lucie Fjeldstad as the company's new president. Fjeldstad, who most recently served as IBM's VP and general manager for Internet and multimedia operations, will report directly to David Pool, founder and CEO of the XML-based portal developer. "I am delighted that Lucie is joining DataChannel's executive management team and helping DataChannel to become an important force in the Corporate Portal marketplace," said Pool. "Lucie's exceptional leadership, industry knowledge and hands-on operational expertise make her a great addition to DataChannel." In addition to 25 years of service with IBM, Fjeldstad has worked as the corporate VP and president of Tektronix's Video and Networking division. "I'm excited to join the DataChannel team as president," said Fjeldstad. "I particularly look forward to collaborating with Dave to help take the Internet into the next generation: organized, managed and published."
