I collaborate therefore I know

After nine years of research, Knowledge Management Software (KMS) unveils Deskartes Universal Knowledge, which has been designed to facilitate the discovery and collaboration of knowledge across the enterprise. The company reports deployment of its software helps create a knowledge-sharing culture and results in reduced cost, increased productivity and enhanced innovation and service.

KMS' Deskartes software is used for help desk, customer relationship management, intranet, Web and other business applications. Universal Knowledge will be available in November.

KMS says the Delphi Group estimates that roughly 20% of corporate knowledge exists explicitly as knowledge in electronic documents, while 42% remains as tacit knowledge in employee heads. David Rosalski, KMS’ chief operating officer, explains, "Deskartes can capture this tacit knowledge because it facilitates the recognition and reward of knowledge experts, who maintain their status while capturing their knowledge.

“[Acknowledged] as experts, employees do not feel they are giving up their knowledge and compromising their perceived status in the organization. In this manner, Deskartes encourages the positive collaboration between individuals and enables the entire organization to harness its intellectual capital."

Pricing for Deskartes Universal Knowledge solutions starts at approximately $68,000.
