Hummingbird Reports Preliminary Q1 Results
Hummingbird Communications (North York, Ontario) has released preliminary Q1 '98 financial results. Sales of $27.4 million compares with sales of $22.3 million in Q1 '97. Net income of $8.6 million represents a 27% increase from Q1 '97. The results "are in line with our plans," said president and CEO Fred Sorkin. During the quarter Hummingbird finalized its acquisition of Andyne (Kingston, Ontario), a database management and business intelligence software company, and unveiled Common Ground Paper2Web, a scanning application that converts paper documents to a Web-ready digital file format.
