Help for self-helpers

KnowledgeBase Solutions introduces Version 3.0 of its customer self-help and support solution, which includes new and enhanced features such as portal customization, added search options and foreign language support. The company has also introduced two new add-on features, the KB Portal Builder and the KB Global Language Pack, which are said to provide high levels of portal modification.

The company claims new features included in KnowledgeBase.net Version 3.0 enable companies to seamlessly integrate a high-quality customer self service and support application into any Web page environment. It adds that with no limitations on customization levels, KnowledgeBase.net’s front-end portal can be customized to appear in any style, with any combination of features. Portals can also be personalized based on login information.

The company says the new and enhanced standard capabilities of KnowledgeBase.net 3.0 include:

  • portal snap-ins that enable customers to simply “snap” their preferred portal features into any Web page without have to launch a separate knowledgebase portal;

  • personalized portals that allow customers to create one portal for various sets of users based on entitlements and permissions eliminating the need for administrators to create separate portals for different end-user groups;

  • enhanced searching features including subcategory, wildcard, exact word and stemming

  • batch uploads that enable thousands of legacy documents to be automatically loaded into a knowledge base at one time

  • enhanced back end searching;

  • article work-flow and user details reports;

  • dynamic portal caching to boost the performance of high traffic portals; and

  • storage area setwork (SAN) support.
