Gentia acquires data mining technology
Gentia Software has added knowledge discovery and data mining to its Renaissance Balanced Scorecard software application with today's announced $3.1 million acquisition of
Compression Sciences and its K.wiz data mining technology. K.wiz, a Java-based knowledge discovery and data mining product, lets users analyze large amounts of data and highlight key trends. Combining knowledge discovery and data mining with enterprise analytical apps like the Balanced Scorecard will facilitate the decision making process and analysis of business performance, according to Gentia chairman and CEO Paul Rolph. He described examples of possible end-user scenarios a financial services company wanting to identify those customers likely to purchase a new product, or a telecommunications company trying to predict who among its customers are most at risk to switching to a rival supplier.
