GTESS opens claims outsourcing factory

Data entry software developer GTESS has opened an outsourcing business for its customers' healthcare claims.

In the new "Claims Factory," data from HCFA and UB92 healthcare is scanned and processed, converted into either an EDI or ASCII format, and returned to the customer within 48 hours. Digital images of the claims and any attachments, along with indexing information, are stored in an image archive.

The factory is currently processing 20,000 claims per day, and is expected to double production in the next six months, according to GTESS president and COO Bill Feldman.

Harris Methodist Health Plan (Arlington, TX) is currently using the service to "significantly reduce the time associated with processing paper claims," according to Ernest Pero, VP of Provider Reimbursement
