French bank goes digital for customer transactions

French bank BICS-Banque Populaire is looking to better handle customer transactions with a new document management system from Anacomp.

BICS is replacing an old microfilm-based system with Anacomp's ImageSTAR system to store, retrieve and deliver customer account statement and transaction records. Totalling 70 million pages annually, the documents will be indexed and available to the bank's back-office personnel supporting 90 branch locations in and around Paris. The bank has future plans to implement document scanning and image capture modules to further digitize the process
