First Data Inks Deal With Wells Fargo

First Data Enterprises (Omaha, NE), a unit of First Data Corporation

, has signed an agreement to provide data processing services for Wells Fargo Bank N.A. (San Francisco), the nation's tenth largest bank holding company. Under the agreement, First Data will provide data processing and other card portfolio management services for more than 3.4 million credit cards and more than 3.5 million debit card accounts. Financial terms of the 10-year deal were not disclosed. "The services and processing expertise that First Data provides will give us an edge in achieving our strategic goals for the future," said Wells Fargo executive VP M. Lucile Reid.
