FileNet acquires Shana

In a move to further enhance its business process management offering, FileNet has purchased electronic forms solution provider Shana Corp. FileNet says that Shana’s development team will form the core of FileNet's Canada-based development center and will support further FileNet product development, as well as customer support of FileNet's eForms offering.

FileNet says it expects the new capabilities acquired from Shana will allow it to address the complete spectrum of eForms requirements, from general forms management and delivery to content- and process-centric uses that require a more complex set of features and functions.

FileNet further says Shana’s technology allows users to create and manage electronic forms that serve the same function as paper forms (i.e. capturing information), yet are more advanced, easier to use and more cost effective, FileNet claims.

The deal was an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $8.5 million.
