FileNet Unveils Panagon IDM Document Management Suite

FileNet (Costa Mesa, CA) has unveiled the Panagon IDM Desktop suite of document management applications, built for Microsoft

(Redmond, WA) Windows and Web client desktops. The suite, a component software set of document imaging, document management and workflow technology developed with the help of American Management Systems (AMS, Fairfax, VA), Icon Consulting Group (Boston), InfoAccess (Bellevue, WA), Provenance Systems (Ottawa, Ontario), and Spicer (Kitchener, Ontario), allows users to access, view any work with document from any desktop through a Web browser. Seamless integration with Windows NT allows users to manage and view more than 200 document formats, including images, text, video and fax. "Panagon IDM Desktop allows enterprise customers to unleash the power of document-based information, creating new business opportunities and improving business processes," said Charles Stevens, VP of Microsoft's Application Developers Customer Unit. "With this announcement, FileNet steps once again into the competitive fast lane," according to The Delphi Consulting Group (Boston), adding that Panagon IDM "should insure that FileNET will be on the short list for most major system implementations." Client/Server versions of Panagon are expected to range from $300 to $800 per user, with the Web version included free of charge. First customer shipments of Panagon IDM are scheduled to begin next month.
