FileNET and Autonomy collaborate

A new FileNET business unit and a U.K. provider of knowledge management products have formed a partnership to provide advanced personalization for corporate portal applications.

FileNet’s newly formed Panagon Esolutions unit will add Autonomy’s advanced catergorization and personalization technology to its portal productions. Through the agreement, FileNet customers will now be able to fine-tune searches for corporate information through their portal interface.“Autonomy’s technology can analyze and rank the ideas within any piece of Web content, regardless of its origin,” said Mark Chealander, VP and general manager of Pangon ESolutions. “Because of this unique capability, we can now automate some of the most time-consuming tasks associated with building and maintaining a portal.”

Those tasks include categorizing, tagging, linking and personalizing voumes of internal and external information from news feeds, e-mails and Web sites to Lotus Notes and other documents.

The added technology also allows Panagon ESolutions to address portal applications for tracking how content is used by contstituents--to determine its value and establish best-practices approaches for leveraging key content. Panagon ESolutions was formed to devleop and deliver business-to-business information portals and e-business applications to the financial services and insurance industries.
