Federal Data Sells Document Management Business

Federal Data (Bethesda, MD) has sold its DoxSys division to SER Systeme AG, a European document management company. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. DoxSys provides workflow and document management systems to the U.S. government. Its clients include the U.S. Department of Education, Department of the Interior, Department of State, Department of Treasury, the House of Representatives, the National Archives, the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. SER manages over 400 installations of document management systems, and owns Dorotech, a leading French document management outfit. With the acquisition, SER has a solid foundation in the German, French and U.S government document management markets. DoxSys will keep its name and president (Mike Brant), and its business focus will continue as planned. "Our business has been built on a strong relationship with Mosaix (Redmond, WA)," said Brant, "and this alliance will continue."
