Ericsson and TeamWARE link up for wireless data

TeamWARE (Santa Clara, CA) and telecom provider Ericsson

are teaming up to deliver wireless data solutions through a GSM infrastructure. TeamWARE's Pl@za will be incorporated in Ericsson's WISE wireless internet solution, to demonstrate the advantages of combining Internet technology with the GSM data transport infrastructure. The WISE program is designed to offer solutions for GSM operators, wireless data service providers and end-users using non-voice services within the GSM network such as laptops and personal digital assistants. The deal represents "a great step forward towards supplying the customer with a real life solution," said TeamWARE representative Jukka Riivari. The incorporation of TeamWARE's Pl@za will allow users "to make better informed decisions so that they can focus on their objectives and not on the tool itself." Berndt Johannsen, Product Manager for Ericsson Radio Systems AB, says that TeamWARE's Pl@za "fits very well in the WISE solution portfolio targeted for GSM operators...interested in enhancing their mobile datacom services."
