Enterprise engineering

McLaren Software has officially launched Enterprise Engineer 3.5, an application that serves as a single point of controlled access for unstructured engineering content, such as drawings, data sheets, correspondence, calculations, transmittals, specifications and financial projections.

The company reports that new features in Enterprise Engineer 3.5 include:

• a work manager and audit trail capability that enables companies to oversee and manage engineering tasks;

• a formal review process that provides comment and redline capabilities that allow engineers to mark up individual sections of large-scale drawings with interactive comments and quickly navigate to view and edit existing revisions;

• integration with Microsoft Office, which allows users to utilize all Microsoft applications as part of their engineering process-including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook files; and

• the ability to manage content on both the EMC Documentum and FileNet P8 platforms, improving Enterprise Engineer's flexibility and enterprise acceptance.
