Eloquent names ex-Open Text exec as CEO
Knowledge transfer company Eloquent has named former Open Text marketing director Abe Kleinfeld as its CEO, responsible for steering the company's strategic direction. Eloquent produces on-demand, Web-based media for enterprise-wide knowledge transfer and learning.
Kleinfeld was senior executive at Open Text responsible for sales and later worldwide marketing. He has also held executive positions at Odesta Systems (bought by Open Text in 1995) and Oracle.
Kathryn Gould, co-founder of VC firm Foundation Capital, says Kleinfeld's operations experience and software industry experience "will be the driving force behind the company as it moves into the next millennium."
Kleinfeld's sales and marketing expertise will also make him a valuable asset, added Eloquent founder Clifford Reid.
