EMC upgrades Captiva InputAccel

EMC announces EMC Captiva InputAccel 5.3, a new version of the document capture and imaging software.

This is the first version that has been localized for Asian markets with the ability to capture Japanese, Korean and Chinese language characters, allowing globally distributed companies with operations in Asian countries to leverage a more complete and international, enterprisewide document capture platform. EMC reports Version 5.3 also delivers significantly enhanced integration with the EMC Documentum enterprise content management (ECM) platform with bi-directional communication between the two systems.

The company reports other enhancements include:

  • Dispatcher 4.6--enables simple, one-character changes to be made, enhanced free-form accuracy for extracting complex business information from data residing on semi-structured and unstructured forms and a standard customization language for streamlined development and implementation;
  • InputAccel for Invoices 3.0--provides improved ability to capture information from line item details and complex tables for both recurring and non-recurring vendors; and
  • Input Management Console 2.O--leverages Web services to provide monitoring and improved delivery of alerts on the performance of remotely distributed input management and ECM systems.
